About Betta
Betta are anabantids ( family Anabantidae ) , being fishs with an auxiliary breathing apparatus known as the labyrinth organ , that enables them to respire by breathing air directly from the surface of the water . Having 2 methods of breathing increases the survival opportunities for Bettas . This is the reason bettas are able to survive in small containers . Bettas do not actually live in tiny puddles in the wild , so please bear in mind that bettas need a living environment with enough spaces .
